    Matt Langford is a science teacher at Columbine High School and an Adjunct Professor in History at Arapahoe Community College. He played water polo at Bowling Green State University in Ohio for four years. After having kids, he was looking for a way to keep his children active and found water polo in Colorado. In need of refs, he became a ref in 2011 for one of the local teams. Ever since, he has reffed in national tournaments for USA Water Polo, leading the local tournaments as the head ref. In addition to USA Water Polo, he also refs for the Collegiate Water Polo Association for the last 7 years, including being the head ref for numerous events in the Rocky Mountain Region. He earned the opportunity to ref at the National College Club Championships for both men and women. Matt has been with the Colorado High School Water Polo since the inception as the Head Ref.

    Matt has 3 kids that have played water polo. His oldest has become a coach for the Boulder team. Matt has taken a step into the coaching arena, by helping start the S.Jeffco/Heritage water polo team in 2023.

    Jennifer joined the Colorado HSWPA Board in 2022 as the Treasurer. Her previous volunteer experience include positions at the Antelope Ridge Elementary PTCO, Eaglecrest HS Swim Booster, Colorado Water Polo, and the Cherry Creek HS Water Polo team. She currently works at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus as a Practice Facilitator.

    Jennifer did not grow up playing water polo, her son found water polo while watching the 2016 Olympics and wanted to give it a try. He loved it from the first practice, his twin sister tagged along but was adamant that she was a swimmer and not a water polo player. After her second practice, she declared she was a water polo player and not a swimmer.

    A Colorado native, Kyle grew up swimming and playing basketball. He found water polo in college.

  • Eric Bodenstab

    Eric Bodenstab is Colorado Professional Engineer who grew up in southern California and played varsity water polo at The Bishop's School, where he competed against several future Olympic athletes. While majoring in art and architecture at Williams College (2000), he played club water polo with the Ephs. Eric moved to Colorado in 2002 where he earned two graduate degrees - one in Buddhist studies at Naropa University (MA, 2005), and one in structural engineering at UC Denver (MS, 2016). While living in Colorado, he has played with the Rocky Mountain Neptunes, attended the 2007 Youth Coaches Training at the USOC, and continued with the Denver Masters at DU. He is a husband and father of two sons, and currently works for DESMAN Associates as a parking garage design & restoration engineer. He has lived in Denver and Boulder, and now calls Arvada home.

    He is a frequent financial contributor to USA Water Polo. His vision is to see water polo flourish in Colorado, because it is a great activity for young people, promoting a team-first bond for life.

    He was an inaugural member of the CHSWPA Board in 2021, and became the Athlete Safety Officer in 2023.
